2024 Concert Programme

Exciting Concerts in St Mary’s Church in 2024

After a successful year in 2023 when we again organised a wide variety of concerts which were well supported, we have been able to put together an exciting programme for this year. This is what is confirmed so far:

Friday 26th April – We start the year with Quattro Amici singing beautiful arias with such lovely voices, with Joe Richardson on the keyboard. Tickets are £10 including a glass of wine or soft drink.

Friday 24th MayCrispian Steele-Perkins accompanied by organist Ian LeGrice. Crispian is one of the world’s best-known trumpet soloists and has played so many famous pieces of music including the theme tune to the BBC’s longest-running and most popular TV programmes, the Antiques Roadshow. Crispian also collects and restores old trumpets and he will be bringing some of them to demonstrate how they sound. He and Ian LeGrice have a reputation for being excellent entertainers. Tickets will be £15 including a glass of wine or soft drink.

Friday 6th September – another Sea Shanty Extravaganza with The Hoolies and the Felix Stoweaways but this year with the Silver Darlings, a female shanty group from Southend, who have agreed to sing at the event. Tickets will be £8 including a glass of wine or soft drink.

Friday 4th OctoberThe Churchfitters are back again having easily sold out on the two occasions they sold out previously

Details are yet to be finalised but we expect to finish the year with a concert by the Wivenhoe Orchestra.
