Study and Spirituality

“Pray as you go is a 15-minute daily prayer session, designed for use on portable MP3 players, to help you pray whenever you find time, but particularly whilst travelling to and from work, study, etc. A new prayer session is produced every day of the working week and one session for the weekend.  It is not a ‘Thought for the Day’, a sermon or a bible-study, but rather a framework for your own prayer.”

St Mary’s church provides opportunities to take part in courses that focus on various aspects of the Christian faith and practice, and they are open to all.
The following are currently running or are about to start:

Holy Ground
From Sunday 18 June 2017 and then on every third Sunday of the month at 6pm, a creative and reflective way of exploring your spirituality.
One hour for you, and for God if you wish. Details.

The Fellowship Group
Following the recent Vision Day at St Mary’s we were able to identify a need for a group that would encourage people who were fairly new to Christian beliefs.
The result is ‘The Fellowship Group’. Details.

Lectio Divina
Meditative Bible reading with group participation and prayer. Details.

Bible Study (afternoon meeting)
This friendly group meets fortnightly. It is diverse in its understanding of faith and the members appreciate the opportunity to learn from one another as they read and discuss the Bible together and see its relevance to our lives. Details.

Bible Study group (evening meeting)
Are you keen to know more about Christianity or are you just hungry for more of God’s word? Then this BS group could be for you. Details.

Silent Retreat Day
There are two Silent Retreat days at St Mary’s in 2018:
Saturday 28 April and Saturday 20 October
Everyone is welcome to book a place – no previous experience necessary.

Give yourself permission to take a day off from emails, telephone, news, noise and clatter.
Or just commit to the morning… you never know, you might be surprised and end up staying for the afternoon as well!

If you’re interested, take a look here for more details. Bookings before 14 April 2018 please.
