Trinity 9

The Venerable Elizabeth Snowden, the Archdeacon of Chelmsford, reflects on the recent Commonwealth Games in her sermon for Sunday 14 August titled ‘Running the Race’.

Just as an athlete develops the character traits of perseverance and endurance, Archdeacon Elizabeth says, we as Christians need to develop such traits to help us respond when things are tough or uncertain and the way we do this is by looking to Jesus.

Todays Readings are from Hebrews 11.29 – 12.2 and Luke 12.49–56.

As Rev Erwin Lammens explained at the beginning of the Easter service (see below) the provision of weekly online services has temporarily ceased.
St Mary’s is gearing up to have streaming facilities available from inside the church and we look forward to serving you through that additional facilty in due course.
