NEW SOUND AND AV SYSTEM FOR ST MARY’S
In 2017 Friends of St. Mary’s donated £45,000 to the Transformation Project with the stipulation that this was for the upgrading of the sound system (£23,000) and the remainder towards the lighting in the Church. Part of this was the legacy which we received in 2008 from Mrs Dorothy Moss, this had been invested until there was a project which the Committee felt would benefit the whole community.
The sound system was completed in time for the 2017 Christmas celebrations and the sound and loop system are a great improvement, especially benefiting people who are hard of hearing. The audio visual unit will be an asset for community use of the church, and added to the enjoyment of the children’s Nativity play.

The photographs below were taken during the construction of the screen, and then when in use. When not in use, it is retracted out of sight behind the chancel arch.
It is hoped that work on the improvement to the lighting system will begin this year.
