The following is a message from St Mary’s tower captain Adrienne Wood.
“After fifteen months of silence, church bells will soon be heard over Wivenhoe and its environs.
We will ring for the first time on Wednesday 16 June at 8.00pm for about 45 minutes and the same on the following week.
This is to enable us to have a bit of practice ready for our first wedding of 2021 on Saturday 26 June. Thereafter we will ring for the first service to be held at St Mary’s on Sunday 27 June.
We will be fully Covid compliant with guidance issued by HM Government, the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers, and of course, the church authorities.”
