Tomorrow, 1st August, is the official date of Lammas day, a wheat harvest festival that is also known as Loaf Mass Day. The holiday encourages celebrations and mass gatherings where individuals thank God for the first harvest of the season.
We celebrated in some style in the Rectory garden on Saturday 29 July with a Blessing of the Lammas Loaf as in the video below, and where about 50 people were treated to Nick’s famous chicken curry and/or various BBQ delights with great salads and a fantastic selection of puddings for afters.

Congratulations to the catering team and the organisers who entertained us with a quiz, a raffle and children’s activities as well as feeding us all.
There’s someone missing from this photo: Suzanne was too busy running around to catch her!
Thank you all!
