Trinity and the Rublev icon

At the end of this morning’s streamed service we were afforded a closer look at a copy of the Rublev icon which had formed part of the background in the video.

As it happens, Malcom Guite had also used the icon with his Trinity sonnet post which, if you haven’t yet read it, is  available here.

Further thoughts about the interpretation of the icon and questions to ponder can be found here.
The website is slightly clunky; the best way through is to click on the ‘next’ button and ignore the ‘back to the picture’ links.
Once on the third figure in the icon, click on the ‘back’ button to go to the concluding page.
