Spring bulb planting in the churchyard

On Tuesday 2 October at 5.45 pm masses of spring bulbs and plug plants will be put into the ground in the strip of the churchyard where the Art on the Railings is usually displayed.

The event has been coordinated by the Wild about Wivenhoe group and is part of the environmental enhancement work which, you may remember, has included St Mary’s churchyard since the church’s adoption of the Wildlife Management plan back in June of this year- see the document here.

There are hundreds of little bulbs and plug plants, specially selected for their value to wildlife and pollinators, that need to be planted on Tuesday.
Listen to an interview about the event here and if you are available to join the other volunteers it would be lovely to see you, trowel in hand, to help with this!
