The three days of prayer leading up to Easter Sunday go by the collective name of Triduum, a three-day commemoration of Jesus’ passion, death and resurrection, culminating in the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday.
The period begins today, Maundy Thursday, when we commemorate the Last Supper and the institution of the Eucharist.
The Last Supper was preceded by the foot washing, told in the Gospel of John, 13:1-15. If you have come across the hastag #washday in the last few weeks then you may know that it had to do with being of service to the community and those around us, based on this story of the foot washing.
Tonight at 8 pm we will celebrate the Eucharist at St Mary’s.
