Two weeks for Tuloy

This year St Mary’s own Lent Appeal is to raise money for the Tuloy Foundation, something brought to our attention by Katy Osborne whom many will remember as a chorister.

Katy is currently a member of the cast of Mamma Mia. While on tour with the show, Katy visited a centre for street children in Manila which is run by the Tuloy Foundation, a charitable, non-political, not for profit organisation providing residential care services for disadvantaged children.
Katy decided to use her two weeks’ leave from the show to teach dance and drama to the children at the centre. She initially approached St Mary’s with a request for help with travelling expenses but when the Mamma Mia production team took care of that side of things, Katy decided that any further donations should go straight to the Tuloy Foundation’s theatre building project- and this is now our Lent Appeal.

As you can see on her Facebook page, Katy’s project has now been completed and she already raised a respectable sum! On Sunday 23 March during the morning service, she will give a presentation of her work with the Tuloy children . This will take the place of the sermon.
